Catholic Charities Food Pantries help more people today than we ever have in our 80 year history. Most months, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson gives out food to 5,000 - 7,000 people at their 3 food pantries. In April of 2020, this number practically doubled, as they helped over 11,000 individuals who are feeling the direct economic impact of COVID-19.
We serve the most in need throughout our communities, including young children, senior citizens, those with disabilities and people who work multiple jobs just to pay rent and utilities.
During the critical summer months, children are home from school, and thus miss out on 2 meals that are typically provided for them during the school year.
We are blessed during the Christmas and Holiday Season by the generosity of others. During summer months, many individuals vacation and the food insecure are not in the forefronts of their minds.
