Thank you Pastor, Father Brian Sullivan and Parish Family of Christ the King, New Vernon for their thoughtful contribution through the We Care, We Share Program to the Department for Persons with Disabilities.
This generous gift allowed the DPD to purchase a new generator at Wiegand Farm.
Through the generosity of a prior bequest, an initiative called “We Care/We Share” was launched in 2017 to support the Church’s current and future outreach programs. Parishioners from Christ the King have pledged contributions which were then matched from interest generated from the bequest. The Fund is used to serve organizations within the Paterson Diocese.
Each of the group homes at DPD have backup generators should an emergency hit. This contribution allowed the Department to purchase a generator that had recently broken at their Wiegand Farm in Jefferson Township.
Wiegand Farm is home to 3 group homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"We are so grateful for the continued support of Father Brian Sullivan and the Parishioners of Christ the King Parish. This generator will assure that all of the people we serve are kept safe and secure," said Joanna Miller, Executive Director, DPD.
