Catholic Charities, within the Diocese of Paterson is one of the most expansive nonprofit organizations in the entire state of New Jersey. This charity supports children of all ages, families in crisis, people with addictive disorders, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, senior citizens, veterans, and all who come to their doors across 70 programs and 3 counties.
Catholic Charities, Hope House, based out of Dover, New Jersey, has recently received a grant from Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center, to provide support for their senior programs within Morris County.
Programs for seniors at Hope House include the Hope Connection program which provides an affordable, personal emergency response system to help seniors and individuals with disabilities maintain security and independence in their homes. The Fix It & Chore programs help prevent slip and fall injuries as well as illness by providing basic home repairs, cleaning, and safety assessments. These programs, staffed by devoted employees and selfless volunteers, provide needed services for seniors who are homebound so they may age in place successfully. This grant will provide general funding for these vital programs.
“Atlantic Health System and Morristown Medical Center continue to show that they are committed to working with partners to develop healthier communities. Through their grant program, they strive to meet the needs of the areas they service. We are grateful to the Morristown Medical Center Community Health Committee, as well as all of the members of the Atlantic Health community. This funding will enable our Hope House to provide a higher level of support for the greatest generation. We are fortunate to share a community with Atlantic Health,” said Scott Milliken, CEO of Catholic Charities.
