Many of the individuals who live with Catholic Charities, Department for Persons with Disabilities are proud Special Olympians.
Through programming in sports, health, education and community building, Special Olympics tackles the inactivity, stigma, isolation, and injustice that people with intellectual disabilities face. Special Olympics in New Jersey provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, completely free of charge.
On Monday February 18th a Bowling Fundraiser was held for the Special Olympics at Bowlero in Wallington. This event was hosted by Officers Frank Inglese, Katherine Calienni and Christopher Beatini, with volunteers from the Rutherford Police Department.
A kind, anonymous donor covered the entry price for all of the individuals from Murray House, Clifton, to participate, bowl and show their support for the Special Olympics and Rutherford Police Department.
