Christmas in August

Christmas in July came a little late this year, but it was much appreciated by the residents of the Department for Persons with Disabilities, Barnet House.  

Football players from DePaul Catholic and Holy Cross joined Diane Macchia and a few other football moms to spread cheer to the Pompton Lakes program. 

Women and men who happen to have intellectual and developmental disabilities call Barnet House, named after the late agency doctor, Dr. Lawrence Barnet home.  

The individuals who live at the Department for Persons with Disabilities have mostly sheltered in place, throughout much of the pandemic to remain safe.

The Depaul and Holy Cross Football players brought a bag of wrapped gifts for each resident and celebrated "Christmas in August" in a safe and socially distant way. 

Diane Macchie and the DePaul Football Team have had a long and generous relationship with the Department for Persons with Disabilities that continues to flourish.
