Jesus, help us to see that we are your love letters to a world desperate to be loved. We ask that you would show us that each one of our stories is valuable to your kingdom and that you want to use us to spread your love to the ends of the earth. You have written the gospel love story on the tablets of our heart and it’s a story that needs to be shared. We pray for the courage and conviction to share with others. Amen.

✙ February 21 -Saint Peter Damian 1007-1072 A.D.
Peter Damian was born at Ravenna in Italy around 1007. The parents of this brilliant teacher and writer died shortly after his birth. Peter's elder brother brutally used the young lad as an unpaid servant until another brother, Damian, found Peter tending pigs and rescued him, sending him to be educated. This brother was a priest and Peter took his Christian name — Damian — as his own surname. At age 34, in the year 1035, he became a Benedictine monk who became a model monk who occupied himself by studying Scripture and theology and transcribing manuscripts. He was elected prior of this small, poor community in 1043. Others were attracted to imitate his life, and Peter founded five more religious houses for them. He became famous for his uncompromising attitude toward worldliness. In 1057, Peter was named cardinal-bishop. Peter died on February 22, 1072.
✙ February 23 – Saint Polycarp
The story of Polycarp's martyrdom is the earliest recorded account of a Christian martyr. Polycarp was a disciple of St. John the apostle. He was a Christian leader in a pagan world. Polycarp was seized for being a Christian. Persecution and death would not tear him away from Jesus. Polycarp was led into the stadium of Smyrna. The crowd demanded that he be left to the lions, but instead he was sentenced to death by fire. An eyewitness account claims that the flames didn't harm him. He was finally killed by the sword, and his body was burned.
