Murray House is a split level style home in Clifton, NJ. It is the longest running group home for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the state of New Jersey. Murray House provides help and creates hope for 5 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Murray House opened it’s doors in Paterson, NJ to two residents in 1971. Murray House is named after Jimmie Murray, a child with developmental disabilities from Paterson who passed away in 1969. Four generations of Murray Family members have stayed involved with DPD to honor Jimmie’s legacy in various capacities. Jimmie’s memory is forever honored through the individuals who live at Murray House and through the good work of the Murray Family.
The Murray House moved to Allwood Place in Clifton in 1992 and celebrated 40 years of service in 2011. Each year, the Murray House Dinner Dance is held in honor of Murray House.
