Carlos has been the Director of the Father English Food Pantry for over 25 years; he is the driving force behind this vital Catholic Charities ministry that serves the entire Diocese of Paterson, confronting the reality of poverty and hunger in our own communities. Carlos personifies caritas not only in his work with parishes, donors and volunteers, but also in his direct encounters with the thousands of people who are served in the food pantries each year. Carlos cares deeply; He looks into the eyes of the working poor and homeless, embraces them, instills hope and restores dignity. This begins with a couple of bags of groceries, some clothing and an invitation to become involved with other services offered at Catholic Charities.
Carlos gives his all to this ministry, he responds when called to action to pick up donations, meet a client in need, coordinate resources with other agencies. All that Carlos does is for the greater good to serve the community that he loves; and is done in humble service to our Lord.
