Congratulations to Catholic Charities Development Director, Chris Brancato, who was honored on May 10th as a Saint Mary's High School Distinguished Patron.
Brancato, Class of 2002, joined other Patrons Richard Pigott (Class of 57), William Einreinhofer (Class of 70) and Janet Merli (Class of 68).
Chris has devoted his life to helping those in need and has worked with Catholic Charities in various capacities since he was a teenager. Previously, he served as the Director of Development and Public Relations for the Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) and prior to that, he was the Director of the Fitzpatrick House Group Home in Pompton Lakes.
He is a past Board Member of the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Intervention Services (DASI) and a current Board Member of the Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the New Jersey Association of Fundraising Professionals, a Member of the Knights of Columbus (#3835 Our Lady of the Highway Council), a Rotarian, and a member of DPD’s People Need Friends Volunteer Group. Chris and his wife, Jaclyn were recipients of the 2013 Diocese of Paterson, Vivere Christus Award for service and he was also the Paterson Federation's 2017 Knight of Columbus of the Year for his service to the Order.
Chris dedicated the award to his mother, Jeanette and to an "anonymous donor." Jeanette, currently in remission from 2 rare forms of Leukemia, received a bone marrow transplant around Christmas. Jeanette's life was saved by a selfless individual whe pledged and agreed to donate his marrow.
