The Department for Persons with Disabilities, DPD, has been based out of Jefferson Township for over 45 years. Throughout history, the Department has provided help and created hope for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the help of local businesses.
On February 28th, the Department hosted the Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce Winter Networking event at the J-Towne Tavern. This event welcomed over 30 local businesses from around the Jefferson area.
"We are blessed for our partnership with the Department for Persons with Disabilities," said Dr. Bret Hartman, President of the Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce. "The Chamber is committed to supporting local nonprofit organizations and community groups. DPD and Catholic Charities, is a well-run organization that helps bring joy to many," he added.
Chamber members, in turn, gave back to DPD at this event, as 11 businesses pledged sponsorships for the June Wiegand Farm Golf Classic.
