DPD Barnet House in Pompton Lakes was visited by a group of Christmas angels on December 21st, including students from the DePaul High School Football program, Immaculate Heart Academy, Don Bosco Prep, and the College of Holy Cross.
The event was organized by longtime DPD supporter Diane Macchia-Hanson. Diane’s Aunt Sissy was a resident of DPD’s Wayne House and Barnet House for most of her adult life. After Sissy passed away, Diane made it her mission to stay connected with Sissy’s DPD Family, starting with hosting Christmas at her home along with other families from Wyckoff.
Students and volunteers stayed socially distant from those who live at Barnet House, bringing the presents to the door and caroling from outside of the home.
Dianne also brought many sweet treats for the house, as well as other food staples and cleaning supplies. Each resident received a giant bag of wrapped gifts. It was lovely to see such love and charity for those at Barnet House. We are so grateful!
