On September 28th and 29th Catholic Charities held a tele-behavioral health training at William Paterson University in Wayne. This two day conference was the first of its kind ever hosted by Catholic Charities. The conference sold out one of the Universities' largest conference rooms.
The training was held in conjunction with United for Prevention in Passiac County. The presenter was Dr. Marlene Maheu, the Executive Director of the Tele-behavioral Health Institute based out of San Diego.
"We led a two day 15 hour professional training that led to a certificate in tele-behavioral health. This training helped clinicians better connect to people in need through different types of technologies. It was a pleasure to come out to speak to this attentive crowd, including those who work at Catholic Charities," said Dr. Maheu.
"We were proud to welcome a sold out group of colleagues, educators and clinicians to our Tele-behavioral Health Conference. We are very excited about the many new advancements we are experiencing in the behavioral health profession. We would like to thank our generous sponsors, the planning committee and the Tele-behavorial Health Institute who have all made this training possible," said Dr. Sam Pirozzi, Executive Director of Straight and Narrow.
